Joan has spent most of her life in Southern Maryland near the waters of the Patuxent River and the Chesapeake Bay.  She loves the creative process and is passionate about exploring new materials and techniques and tends to pour herself into new projects.  The creativity process begins when she asks the “what if” questions that transform her art into something uniquely “Joan”, learning to listen and trust her own inner voice.  Joan's art journey thus far has led to watercolors, oils, acrylics, mixed-media, pastels, photography, silk painting and jewelry.  On the following pages you will see samples of her work.
